Job description

Process mechanics for plastics and rubber technology specialising in semi-finished products plan the production of semi-finished products based on order data or special customer requirements. To do this, they select the casting processes commonly used by us, along with the materials, aggregates and additives. They determine processing parameters such as temperature, time and pressure, set up the production machines and equipment accordingly and monitor the entire production process. They also handle the post-processing steps for the cast products, such as tempering, conditioning and post-treatment of the surfaces. Moreover, they properly pack, transport and store the semi-finished products.

Trainees spend the first four months in and out of the training workshop, guided by training supervisors. They are then transitioned to the production area, where training mentors in production come alongside them as well.

The job of porocess mechanic for plastics and rubber technology specialising in semi-finished products is a recognised 3-year training occupation according to the Vocational Training Act (Berufsbildungsgesetz, BBiG).
